Horror Musical: Little Shop of Horrors
I don’t like many musicals, but I live for Little Shop of Horrors. I’m very excited that a local theatre will be showcasing it in April! I never miss a chance to see it performed live.
If you’re in or around Ottawa, Canada, on April 13 to 15, 2017, you could see it yourself at the Gladstone Theatre.

Horror Cinema: Suspiria
Movie review
Dario Argento’s SuspiriaI watched my first Italian horror movie last night. I began with Suspiria. The soundtrack was the highlight of the movie. The music made the simplest of scenes terrifying, and reminded me of Kubrick’s The Shining. It was obvious to me that Kubrick liked this movie, and I discovered that he is not nearly as original as I had thought. The deaths throughout Suspiria were satisfyingly gory, and the plot about a coven of witches was just good enough to keep the gore moving while not bogging the narrative down with explanations. This movie is one of a trilogy about witches by director Dario Argento. I’m looking forward to seeing the other two, Inferno and The Mother of Tears.

Corpse-eating Cats
I am working on a story with a cat who is found feasting on a dead body. I’ve always been intrigued by stories of cat owners who are eaten by their pets. When I was a teenager, there was a story in my neighbourhood of an old woman who was found in her home weeks after she had died, and she had been mostly eaten by her four cats. Such pragmatic creatures.
Visit Body of dead cat lover ‘gnawed and eaten’ by her own pets as she lay undiscovered for weeks for a reported incident of a woman who was found with body parts completely eaten away by her cats.
